OER Research at the Issue Lab: "The body of work collected here represents the combined efforts of organizations worldwide. During the last ten years, as the Open Educational Resources movement has grown, so has the body of research being produced on the topic. We invite you to engage with the new discoveries and analyses that this collection has to offer."
OER Commons: "Open Educational Resources are all about sharing. In a brave new world of learning, OER content is made free to use or share, and in some cases, to change and share again, made possible through licensing, so that both teachers and learners can share what they know."
Open Educational Resources Library: The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation has been the global leader in establishing OER as a field. Visit their online library for reports and perspectives on OER around the world.
Creative Commons: "Creative Commons is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to making it easier for people to share and build upon the work of others, consistent with the rules of copyright. Creative Commons provides free licenses and other legal tools to mark creative work with the freedom the creator wants it to carry, so others can share, remix, use commercially, or any combination thereof."
OER International Projects
The following projects promote OER around the world and are rich with OER information.
OER Toolkit "This online toolkit project was inspired by, and builds on a discussion of the UNESCO OER Community to outline a 'Do-It-Yourself/Do-It-Together' resource to build capacity for local OER development and use."
WikiEducator "The WikiEducator is an evolving community intended for the collaborative: planning of education projects linked with the development of free content; development of free content on Wikieducator for e-learning; work on building open education resources (OERs) on how to create OERs; and networking on funding proposals developed as free content"
Commonwealth of Learning "The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) is an intergovernmental organisation created by Commonwealth Heads of Government to encourage the development and sharing of open learning/distance education knowledge, resources and technologies. COL is helping developing nations improve access to quality education and training."
OER Africa "OER Africa is an innovative new project, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, under the auspices of the South African Institute for Distance Education (SAIDE). OER Africa has been established to play a leading role in driving the development and use of Open Educational Resources (OER) on the African continent."
CORE "The Chinese Open Resources for Education is a non-profit organization. Her mission is to promote closer interaction and open sharing of educational resources between Chinese and international universities, which CORE envisions as the future of world education. CORE is committed to providing Chinese universities with free and easy access to global open educational resources."
