Learn more about a successful course redesign effort at the University of Utah leveraging Open Education Resources. Combining free textbooks, instructional videos, on-line quizzes, electronically graded homework assignments and practice exams, ChemVantage is a learning resource that supports face-to-face, hybrid or fully on-line General Chemistry classes. ChemVantage founder Chuck Wight will demonstrate how built-in learner analytics helps instructors to identify problems quickly, keep students on track automatically, and identify specific topics where students are having difficulty mastering expected outcomes. The impact of such homework on the in-class environment will also be discussed.
